New version of the Mi-24 Hind available now ! Version 1.2 has been sent to our four FS vendors and they will be hosting it as soon as possible. Check your account at your vendor's site or contact them directly. Version 1.2 adds the following :

Fixes missing animations in Polish and GDR VCs.
Adds working landing light.
Fixes incorrect texturing on right-side drip rail.
Adds 14 new camera definitions for both interior and exterior views.

May 1 :

New fix available for HU-16 Albatross water landing issues. This Zip file contains a replacement aircraft.cfg for the Albatross with adjusted contact points to stop the occasional crashes experienced when landing on water: Albatross patch. Use right-click and 'save target as' on the link to save a copy of the Zip file to your PC.

Announcing the Virtavia B-29 Superfortress ! It's time to preview this other new project being worked on at Virtavia, so another new 'Work in Progress' page has now been added where the first shots of the 8 texture sets can now be seen. Please note, more updates to the B-29 page will not occur until after the R3Y Tradewind project is completed and released.

Mar 31 :

Update available for Mi-24D Hind cockpit ! The Artifical Horizons have been changed to the more familiar Western style of operation in the new version of the cockpit. Also the HUD horizon graphic has been altered to match the AH's. Version 1.1 of the Mi-24 has been uploaded to all vendors, alternatively we can e-mail the new VC, gauges .cab and updated manual to anyone who can provide proof of their purchase. The files are small, only 3.4MB in total. Please use the e-mail address shown at the bottom of this page.

New Expansion for the FSX Virtavia B-24 Liberator - the C-87 Liberator Express transport and the C-109 tanker ! Both these models are FREE to existing owners of the FSX Virtavia B-24 package, just go to your personal download area (or wherever you normally go for patches and updates) at your vendor's site and you can download the installer. The Virtavia B-24 for FSX MUST be installed already for the expansion aircraft to work. These are external model expansions only, the default B-24 VC is still used, in very slightly modified form. For those wishing to modify the textures, the paintkit files used on the new models' textures are available in the Paint Kits section in the Freeware area.

The Mi-24D Hind page now shows all the final screenshots ! This great product is now very close to release, just the user manual and the sounds need to be finalised.

Jan 22 :

The AlphaSim B-36 Peacemaker has finally been re-released as a Virtavia product ! The usual vendors will be listing this great model package in the next few days. Both the B-36H and B-36B are featured. Both the FS9 and (native) FSX models have a 2D panel, old-style VC, sounds, illustrated checklist, 2 set of reflective textures, panel info images and a readme.txt which lists the keypresses for the animations.

Dec 27 :

The AlphaSim Handley-Page Victor is now available as freeware :

This once very popular addon includes the B.1A (white), K.1A (camo), and K.2 in both camo and hemp textures. Both FS9 and (native) FSX models have a VC, gauges, sounds, checklist and readme.txt. Both are available now, just head over to the Freeware pages : Virtavia Freeware Site.

Also - the T-28 Trojan (FS9, FSX) has been re-uploaded.
All models have good VC's, 2D panel, gauges, checklist and readme.txt. All are available now, just head over to the Freeware pages : Virtavia Freeware Site
If any of the older freeware models are missing panel and gauge sets (as was normal in those days), let us know and we will re-upload these compete with their original panels and gauges.

Oct 29 :

The A-4 Skyhawk page now shows the final, amended VC screenshots. The panel now includes two new warning light blocks and repositioned SimIcons. There are also screenshots of the AGM-62 Walleye variant panel (with TV screen in place of radar) and the Blue Angels cockpit (no radar or gunsight).

Oct 26 :

The final A-4 Skyhawk hi-res screenshots of the exterior have been posted on the A-4 Skyhawk page. New replacement VC shots will also be posted very soon, as some more detail has been added. The manual now has to be published and also final testing by several veteran US A-4 Skyhawk pilots and a current F/A-18F pilot. We are days away from release.

The old AlphaSim B-52 Stratofortress, F-117A Nighthawk and Dassault Mirage IV packages for FS2004 are now available as freeware. A VC and full 2D panel suite is included for each, the B-52 includes the Co-Pilot panel addon and a paint kit, and the F-117A includes custom sounds. Oct 10 :

The superb videos by EFS Films of the Virtavia B-1B, Sea King, CH-47D and C-17 which were originally on our now defunct (hijacked) YT channel have now been relinked to the respective pages on this site. Even if you already have the models, these videos are worth a look - set to great music and with amazing scenery, they really show off the models to great effect. Unlike the YT versions, these are in the original high resolution. There are also two videos of the F-111 on its Gallery page - equally well-made by EFS.

Oct 10 :

The A-4 Skyhawk is very close to release ! The cockpit model is now complete, hi-res screenshots have been posted on the A-4 Skyhawk page. New features include click sounds for all active switches and knobs and 17 unique FDE's (flight dynamics files) for all the different loadouts. So now fully loaded aircraft will handle differently to lighter loaded or clean ones. Also, all parts of the aircraft which are visible from the cockpit, including weapons and tanks, are visible from the VC. The WIP screenshots of the external model have been removed from the A-4 Skyhawk page as these are not fully representative of the final model (all versions are still included), new, final ones will be posted very soon.

New work in progress screenshots on the A-4 gallery page ! This preview covers the package's two 'Adversary' Skyhawks, as used by the Navy and Marines for dissimilar combat training. Also shown is the access ladder, which appears using the wing fold function when the engine is off.

Jun 21 :

The Australian A-4G Skyhawk variants are now previewed on the A-4 gallery page ! These new images show the early A-4G in classic grey and white 'Chequertails' scheme, and the later 'air superiority' grey camo scheme. Please note, in all the images the cockpit is shown in plain black, this is temporary as the final model will of course have appropriate colour and detailing in there.

The Sea King and the CH-47D Chinook . The Sea King gets a top score of 5/5 stars, the CH-47D gets a commendable 4/5 stars !

Jun 15 :

New screenshots showing progress on the A-4 have been posted on the A-4 gallery page ! The new images show the detailed MER and TER racks, some USMC textures and the fully working catapult bridle and holdback assemblies. Users of FSX Acceleration will see these appear when hooking up to the cat, the holdback vanishes at launch and the bridle stays until the end of the cat stroke, where it then vanishes.

Jun 4 :

The first work-in-progress images of the E version have now been posted on the A-4 gallery page ! It's shown carrying wing tanks and a pair of AGM-12B Bullpups. There'a also a new shot of the A-4F with a centerline tank and the larger AGM-12C Bullpup missiles.

The first pictures of the new Skyhawk have been posted on the A-4 gallery page ! These are Work-in-Progress shots so it's possible there will still be small changes and improvements. The A-4F depicted has a weathered scheme, a cleaner appearance will be used on some of the other variants in the package.

Apr 30 :

The new A-4 Skyhawk package will now include the A-4E variant. This has delayed release a little, the first screenshots of the exterior will be shown soon. Release is expected late May or early June.

Virtavia models to support X-Plane. Collaboration with established X-Plane developer Dawson Designs means that premium Virtavia titles will now be fully converted to X-Plane format and offered at the vendors sites listed above. Apr 1 :

The old ex-AlphaSim F-111 Aardvark and B-1B Lancer packages are now available on the Virtavia Freeware pages. The F-111 will work in FS02 and FS9. The B-1B is for FS9, with a separate FSX version.
